iPhone Case

I designed this iPod case in thought of my two oldest kids who are always leaving their iPods laying around and dropping them. They absolutely love the ones I made them

Materials:
o Worsted weight (4) yarn – (I used Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in Lava Lamp Ombré)
o Hook size US H8 – 5mm
o Tapestry needle
o Button (I used ¾ inch size button)

Stitches & Abbreviations used:
o Chain (ch)
o Half double crochet (hdc)
o Single crochet (sc)
o Slip stitch (sl st)
o Skip (sk)
o Stitch(es) (st(s))

*** quick note: chain stitches do not count as a stitch. You will also be working in the round, so don’t turn your work 

Ch 9
Rnd 1 – hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each ch until 2nd last one, 3 hdc in last ch. Working on other side of chain, 1 hdc in each ch until 2nd last one, 2 hdc in last ch. Sl st to first hdc.
Rnd 2-13 – ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st to top of ch.
Rnd 14 – ch 1, sc in each st around, don’t join
Rnd 15 – sc in next 3 sts, ch 7, sk next 3 sts, sc in next 6 sts, ch 7, sk next 3 sts, sc in last 3 sts, don’t join.
Rnd 16 – sc in each st around (including each ch st of the ch7)
Rnd 17 – sc in each st around, sl st to 1st st of round.

Fasten off & weave in your ends.

Strap

Attach your yarn at the back side of your work in the second sk st from round 14 with a sl st.
Ch 15, sl st back into your st where you just attached your yarn, this will form your strap loop.
Attach button on front of you work low enough so strap does not slip off.

Fasten off & weave in your ends.
